The KD-EX18G HDMI extender kit utilizes proprietary UHDoTP technology to achieve higher quality at a lower price point. Its standout features include optional 4K to 1080p down-conversion, EDID handshake selection, IR control, and enhanced signal quality.

4K to 1080p Down-Conversion

One of the standout features of the KD-EX18G 4K HDMI extender is its ability to down-convert from 4K to 1080p.

The KD-EX18G is ideal if you have a mixed environment with some displays at 4K and others at 1080p. If your sources vary in resolution, it ensures compatibility with legacy equipment.

Equipped for HD Audio at Transmitter, 5.1 / 6.1 at Extended Display

The video extender supports HD audio formats up to 7.1 at the transmitter’s pass-through port. However, UHDoTP technology supports Dolby or DTS 5.1 or 6.1 over the CAT6 extension.

IR Pass-Through for an Integrated Experience

KD-EX18G has a 3.5mm IR sensor to collect control signals from the source's remote at the Rx unit.

The device has an IR emitter that mounts over the video source's IR receptor at the Tx unit. The emitter can also plug into the Rx unit for integration with centralized professional systems.

IR Signals may be extended for the full 50m distance along with the HDMI AV for a convenient, single-cable solution.

Flexible Power Over CAT

KD-EX18G only requires one power supply connected to the desired transmitter or receiver unit. Flexible PoC feature is included in all Key Digital CAT6 extender kits, for added convenience during installation.

  • UHDoTP via Single CAT5e/6 UTP/STP Extension: With fully automatic adjustment of feedback, equalization, and amplification depending on cabling length

  • 4K Resolution Support: 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 24/25/30/60hz at 4:4:4 (signals up to 18Gbps bandwidth)

  • 4K to 1080p Down Convert: Optional resolution conversion applied at UHDoTP output provides added integration options in retrofit installations as well as added distance performance

  • 10G Pass-thru: Mode enables uncompressed 10.2Gbps signal extension

  • Flexible Power over CAT (PoC): Only one power connection needed. Tx may power Rx, or Rx may power Tx

  • Low Profile: Slim chassis design

  • Signal Extension: 4K/UHD up to 35m (115ft) using CAT5e/6, up to 40m (131ft) using CAT6A STP. 1080p up to 50m (164ft) using CAT5e/6, up to 60m (197ft) using CAT6A STP

  • IR Sensor: Sensor powering via +5V on IR In port collects line-of-sight IR from remote(s) without external IR connecting block

  • HDMI Pass-Through: Enables connection to local monitor or AV Receiver

  • Surround Audio Support: HDMI pass-thru port supports Dolby®, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS™ and DTS-HD™ (formats up to 7.1), UHDoTP output supports Dolby®, DTS™ (formats up to 5.1/6.1

  • Visually Lossless Compression: 18G enabling technology applied to all video formats exceeding 10.2Gbps to accommodate UHDoTP transmission channel
